Re-photo is taken in portrait rather than landscape. Note the difference in size of the trees and hedges.
It's difficult to photograph this from exactly the same location; there is a shrub in the way.
... and this is the right hand one. It's anybody's guess which one Mr. Mildenhall photographed. I would need a cherry picker to rephotograph it from the same angle.
There are two beetles on the Entomology Building. This is the left hand one ...

Constable's Cottage - 16 Lennox Crossing, Acton (ANU Campus)
Probably 31 Farrer Street, Braddon. The house to the left seems to match.
Not taken from exactly the same spot because the trees get in the way.
Mr. Mildenhall may have corrected the perspective on this slightly. It doesn't taper towards the top like mine does.
This photo is taken from Chapman Street, not far from Limestone Avenue. The original caption (Batman Street) must be wrong because Batman Street does not line up with the Sydney Building. I particularly like this photo because it shows the the Sydney and Melbourne buildings clearly even though they are are a kilometre away. The house on the far left is immediately before the intersection with Gooreen Street. The house still exists and is surrounded by the famous 'monster hedge', which I'm glad was preserved. The next house, on the other side of Gooreen Street, has been demolished and replaced by a set of flats ironically called Heritage Corner. The house on the far right still exists and now has the gable painted white and the verandah enclosed. At the end on the other side of Elimatta Street are the two symmetrically placed FCAC C6 houses either side of the walkway into Civic. The two fire hydrants on the left also still exist.
15 Batman Street, Braddon, taken from the other side of Doonkuna Street. It's not obvious from the rephotograph, and makes more sense on site. I believe the Kingston label is a mistake, especially as the FCAC houses in Kingston were painted white. Gorman House is visible on the left in both the original and the rephotograph. The top of the left hand chimney of 15 Batman Street is just visible above the hedge in the rephotograph, and the cedar on the right has grown big. The same house appears in photos A3560:2805 and A3560:2807, in which Gorman house is also visible on the left.
The edge is much taller now and gets in the way of rephotographing from the same location. This is take from just to the right of the hedge.

A search of the web shows it's now part of St Columba's Uniting (Presbyterian) Church on the corner of Fawkner and Farrer Streets. It's definitely not the Salvation Army Hall in Eloura Street.
Taken from the same position in Elimatta Street, as near as I can manage. It's hardly necessary to mention there is now a hedge.
Evidence that this is a photo of Braddon, not Kingston: This is a closeup (in b&w) of the south wall of 65 Elimatta St. With a bit of imagination you can see the line of light coloured mortar on the left of the vertical part of the arch. A high resolution copy of the original would help. The fence running from the wall to the boundary fence no longer exists. However, there are a couple of wooden pegs still in the wall of the house.
17 Batman Street, Braddon.
As Glenda says, hard to reproduce from the right viewpoint without invading the neighbours. This is taken from the nature strip in front of 36 Doonkuna Street. The lintel of 32 is just visible through the trees.
I haven't got the slope of Mt. Ainslie in the background quite right in the rephotograph. I should have zoomed in more. The cedar in the foreground had grown up nicely.
These houses are 62 and 62 Currong Street North, Braddon. Only part of the roof of 62 is visible in the rephotograph.
I had a chat with a friendly young chap who lived in the house. He said the fire places had been bricked over. Pity.

This isn't exactly a rephotograph, it's taken from Google Earth, but reproducing aerial shots is going to be a tricky business! It at least shows the same location today - and settles the dispute about which direction the original photo faces.
The rather extensive hedge means that they couldn't do this today!
A closer shot of the restored headstone
The broken headstone in the foreground of the original photograph has been restored. The original outline can be seen against a new backing in my photograph, and it's been plastered but you can see where the cracks were.
The big gum tree on the left, which doesn't exist in the original photo, is starting to lift some of the graves with its roots. It's nice that they took the ivy off the church, the stonework is so pretty.
This was taken right in the back corner of the graveyard. No snow today, it was about 25 degrees and very sunny! You can just see the top of the spire and the gravestones that line this photograph up.
I had to lean over a hedge to get this one!
This tree is completely blocking the church! But it looks like the right spot, from the position of the gravestones. This is actually taken much further from the church than it appears in the original photo, I had a lot of trouble finding the two smaller headstones in the foreground, they are nearly at the back of the graveyard.
Note the gravestone which isn't in the Archive repost is there - I think it had fallen over and has been 'replanted'

This photograph is a 'closest possible'...where the original photographer stood, there is now a very large tree!
Judging by the gravestones, the location is correct...that tree has got kind of big!

I couldn't get the exact angle on this photograph, because administrative buildings have been built on the place where the original photograph was taken. This was as close as I could manage.
In the original picture, you can see the ivy that used to climb the sides of the church, gone now.

Provisional Parliament House is no longer visible, but the new one is now at the end of the avenue.
